Lost Sauna Co. is a mobile sauna rental company based in North Lake Tahoe in California.

Towards the end of last October (2021), the owners of Lost Sauna Co, Tony and Trevor, invited me out to help them launch their new business. I had just gotten done with some commercial photography work for another company in Minnesota a few days prior. Feeling a little worked from the prior assignment, I had another cup of coffee and jumped on a plane.

Day one, they picked me up from the airport and we headed to the beach to link up with some friends and fire that bad boy up. The time of day couldn't have been better with the sun setting and we were able to get a few pretty stellar product and lifestyle photos.

Day two was a big one. We set out early for a sunrise photo shoot and Mother Nature blessed us with a REAL ONE. After we got everything setup, we came away with what is now the Website Header. A Timelapse with some real mood to it.

Hands down, our hero shot made that morning. I was feeling it, but tried to keep it cool and not tell anyone until we were back at the computer. We continued on for a couple more hours at that location getting a variety of photos that will be great marketing and advertising assets.

We packed up, took a skate break, grabbed lunch, and continued onto our next location. While waiting for our talent (the homies) to arrive, we grabbed a few other photos that will mix well with the content we're trying to create. Tony is a damn good craftsman and made a couple of additional logos out of wood that Trevor and I played around with.

Once our talent arrived, it was time show the size of the sauna and how comfortable that thing really is with a group of people or if you're just trying to have a time with your significant other.

All in all, we were able to come away with more content than we had planned for. The shot list originally created was finished and even expanded upon. We processed a good batch of images and put together about 7 Reels for instagram. Follow along @lostsaunaco on Instagram to see where it travels and to get in touch.

And if you make a trip to the Lake Tahoe area, do yourself a favor and book The Lost Sauna Co.

Deb Keenan of Compass Real Estate and I collaborated on an agent introduction video and photographs for her recent luxury listing at Upper Cascades in Jackson Hole.

Through the pre-production planning process, we developed a story through scripting and what was most important in regards to the home and location. We emphasized the proximity to Grand Teton National Park and it's stunning views. We also wanted to show how private the setting of the home is. Even though there are neighbors relatively near by, we flew just over the treetops to give it a feel of being hidden. It's an incredible place sitting on just over 6 acres.

We talked about the how open it was and sold the fact it would be great for hosting and entertaining. The architecturally beautiful design of the interior with the massive beams and soaring ceilings were also something to highlight.

Views you really can't get enough of.

Showing how big the kitchen is and just how much space there is for family gatherings was another highlight. If you look out the window on the right, you can see Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Pretty rad just how many unique views this property had.

I really like this shot for showing off the beams. You can also notice the two "sub zeros" that this kitchen has.

The photo to the left here further tells the story of massive ceilings, "sub zeros", and open counter space. I would be stoked to have this kind of space in a kitchen.

Below is a view that you can't pass up and gives you a look directly through from the kitchen to the living area. It makes the views outside feel right next to you.

Being able to see these views at different times of the day would be like an ever changing art piece.

Alright moving on from the kitchen...

The soaring ceilings carry throughout the rest of the home. Here's a glimpse at the master bedroom at the other end of the home. Notice the etched glasswork on the left side of the photograph. Multiple bathrooms in the home had a similar style which made for a pretty nice touch.

The final photo I'm going to share with you is a twilight exterior which really made the home glow. This photo in my opinion gives you a sense of just how large the size of this property is. The home itself eclipses over 6,000 livable square feet and the trees tower over it. If we could have picked the time of year, I would have preferred summer but only for this photo. There is a great pond in front of the home that would have made for some really cool reflections off of the water.

Otherwise I like the snow for this shoot. Being able to see Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the snow on the Tetons really added to the experience of this place.

Thanks for reading!

The Great Grey Mountain Retreat

The Great Grey Mountain Retreat was listed by Kendell Foreman at just shy of $4 Million and is located south of Alpine, Wyoming in the Star Valley area. Kendell inquired about some video production she would like done to showcase the property and also wanted some beautiful twilight images to highlight the architecture and relative location.

Video production to me is very collaborative. After asking enough questions and talking through the goal of the project, we scheduled a shoot day to make it happen. Luckily, we were fortunate enough to get an absolute killer morning. Thank you Mother Nature, we walked away with more than we could've asked for.

From concept to reality, I put together a list of ideas to execute on site. Knowing ahead of time, the style and flow she was after was a major part of the overall process and workflow while shooting. We gathered most of the interior video throughout the day and kept an eye on the back and forth sun/clouds we were working with. We caught a break in the clouds in the afternoon and were able to bring some life into the story. The home owners and family were ready to tap in as our talent and we were off and running.

Shooting for most of the day, we captured the best light the the property gave us. Epic sunrises, beautiful sunsets, and an amazing location. We wrapped up just after sun down and headed to post.
